I learned so much about language arts/reading, that it's hard to just put it into a blog. We learned what a 21st century classroom looks like, such as having more stations/centers, better student relationships, lots MORE technology-with technology comes more creativity. Also you need to have more management and keep children focus and engaged more because their attention spans are so fast now.
Another thing we went over were effective literacy teachers which are teachers who understand the standards and how students learn. The understand that prior knowledge is very important because everything relates to one another. Effective teachers use comprehensive balanced literacy programs, standards and benchmarks, strategies, diversity as a strength, learning about families and who they are- not just there names but what they come from, heritage and etc. Also a key factor is to keep up with research. You need to be accurate and knowledge with current data.

What a 21st century classroom looks like.
The 21st century classroom allows you to connect, communicate, collaborate, and create like never before; due to all the technology we have. We are able to do more hands on learning with each of the students. You could use a blog for every student to participate and then have other students read their blog entries. You also could use a blog to post homework or assignments for the students. Another technology devise that is neat, is skype you are about to record your lesson and anyone in the world can watch your lesson. You can also video record your lesson and post them to your blog, so that if a student isn't in class they will still know what is going on.
I think it will physically look different. I think that it will have centers in the classroom where the students can do their work on computers rather than on paper. Also we will have smart boards where we can type right on the screen without having to write on chalk board or even dry erase boards. I think with all the technology we have, the classroom will be a lot different. You can even get the textbooks online and not physically in front of you; you would need a computer to view it.
