From class today 2/21/11

Last week we reviewed on and learned about four different writing techniques. We learned about kidwriting, four square, interactive writing and sit and spell. I feel like these are all good ideas to help teach and reinforce writing in the classroom. This was all express in how to teach children how to write. But the teacher from the classroom in the article gave tons of different examples such as abc book and kwl charts.
I did interactive writing where you share the pencil with the teacher and student. This is a good one for younger grades. I think this can help students learn to spell, pronounce and form sentences. I also really like four square where you put the topic into the middle of a square then you put details into there of the font outside with details. Topic sentence in the last square. Sit and spell was with high frequency words. Kid writing will help spell out words.
